Description:

The Senior Research Associate will conduct all aspects of data collection, including preparing materials for data collection, recruiting, screening, conducting interviews and tracking participants on studies related to HIV, especially among African American and Latino Individuals: Assist with developing and implementation of a plan for participant tracking and retention; and assists with locating participants for follow-up assessments; helps to collect medical records data, including traveling to local clinics to interface directly with providers as necessary; assists study team to ensure that all study procedures are followed, including protocols in place to protect human subjects, and that all necessary research forms are complete and ready for data entry; assists with preparation of study findings for presentations and publications; and helps to ensure that participant incentive payments and other study expenses are properly documented.

Requirements:

Graduate degree (M.A., M.S., M.S.W.) in Clinical Psychology, Social Welfare or a behavioral/social science.  Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) may be considered under special conditions (e.g., high level of research experience on similar studies).  Two or more years of human subjects research experience, including data collection, data management, participant recruitment and tracking, and report writing.  Experience working with diverse groups, including people living with HIV, gay/lesbian/ bisexual individuals, African Americans, and people who are homeless, misuse drugs/alcohol, and/or have psychiatric illness; knowledge and experience working in HIV/AIDS community in Los Angeles area. Computer proficiency with word processing, data management and analysis, and preparation of data for scientific presentation (e.g., in PowerPoint and Excel) is required.
