RESPONSIBILITIES:
UMBC INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY Summary: The incumbent will provide general support to the President’s Office and the Assistants to the President as well as provide communications and operations support. This position reports to the Executive Administrative Assistant III. The successful candidate will
1. Review and track correspondence;
2. Respond to routine inquiries delegated by the President;
3. Provide proofreading and editing assistance;
4. Process payroll, travel, and procurement requests;
5. Maintain leave records;
6. Greet and assist visitors to the 10th floor;
7. Act as an intermediary with members of the campus community and the public;
8. Receive and screen telephone calls;
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: Requires a High School Diploma or GED and six years of secretarial experience, one year of which was providing primary secretarial support to a senior administrator. Must have the ability to multi-task and ensure confidentiality of information. Skills: Strong writing, problem solving, interpersonal communication skills and keyboard skills of a minimum of 40 correct words per minute.
SALARY:
Salary: Pay Range 11 (starting at $34,238) based on the University System of Maryland Salary Structure.
