Summary of primary duties and responsibilities:
Responsibilities: Counsel, assist and mentor students and alumni in resume writing, career development, interview preparation, salary negotiation, employment and exhibition opportunities. Assist in coordination and tracking of internships by cultivating relationships with employers and informing them of the requirements for participation; updating, organizing, and presenting internship information to the chairs, faculty and students; and processing final evaluation data collection and analysis. Facilitate workshops for students and alumni on selected topics. Help Center student workers, temporary staff and volunteers prioritize tasks for completion. Provide support for electronic job website including registering students and employers, posting and monitoring opportunities, trouble-shooting with system provider and gathering statistics from system for reports. Disseminate information to employers about the services of the Locks Career Center. Gather and update information in Center’s resource library. Field both internal and external inquiries. Assist Director in facilitating annual Senior Show VIP reception, including developing and maintaining address database. Support the work of the Locks Career Center Advisory Board, and help recruit alumnae for mentoring purposes. Other assignments as required with occasional evening and weekend obligations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Requirements: BA required, MA or combination of experience and education preferred. Professional experience in the visual arts or design fields, including project management, special events, and strategic planning initiatives. Specific experience in career center operations, including internships, counseling, workshop delivery, and resource center management is also highly desirable. Knowledge of careers and career resources in the visual arts and design, particularly in fashion, interior and graphic design. Complex critical thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to work as part of a team and to provide a high level of customer service and diplomacy in a busy office serving many constituents. Excellent written and oral communication skills with record of effective outreach to diverse student body, alumnae, faculty, chairs, staff, employers, professional organizations, board members, and college committees. Demonstrate sensitivity and professional standards for working with information of a confidential nature. Ability to coordinate multiple projects and complete on deadline. Ability to develop and maintain administrative systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel, and Access. Working knowledge of Symplicity-Career Services Management System helpful.

Instructors in Studio Art & Design
The Continuing Education Department at Moore College of Art & Design has opportunities for part-time instructors with master’s degrees or equivalent professional experience to teach courses in the following areas: digital media for print and web, photography, interior design, fashion design, and fine arts (two dimensional and three dimensional). Courses meet one evening a week or on Saturdays for 10-week segments. Salary varies with program and experience.
